Beginner Hula Hoop
12 Week Registration Class
Come join professional Hula Hoop Dancer, Megan, at the YWCA Lethbridge & District to learn the basics of hula-hoop dancing with your knees, shoulders, chest, hands, arms, ankles and neck! We will learn a variety of tricks using hand to eye coordination and balance. In this series of classes you will build strength, flexibility and a sense of community. We will keep the class non-competitive, fun and upbeat with games and music! Hoop dancing is quickly becoming a popular hobby for lots of people in addition to being quite unique! Hula-hooping, as you may know, is more than just waist hula-hooping, it’s a meditative art! Join the hoop flow and ask the front desk for more information on upcoming classes!
Clothing suggestions: Any fitness clothing you are comfortable with will be fine, however for best results learning the skills you may find that it helps to avoid clothing which is slippery and that skin showing can help. Shorts and sports bras are not only acceptable for this class, but encouraged.
Hoops are available, but bringing your own will guarantee you have the one you need and offer a greater sense of consistency to help the learning process.
