Learn the principles you need to improve your chances of surviving a violent encounter. This six-week course will cover the basics of how to identify threats and avoid them. You will also learn how to incapacitate your attacker in the event you are unable to avoid a violent encounter.
This course is based on real-world no-nonsense techniques that can be quickly learned and applied. You won’t become invulnerable to any attack, but you’ll have the tools to allow you to save your life and the lives of loved ones.
What to expect The YWCA Personal Protection Program is designed to quickly and efficiently teach participants how to evaluate threats and make plans to avoid the avoidable and survive the unavoidable.
Week one: Learn important cues to look for that signal danger is near. This empowering information can decrease paranoia by helping you know what to worry about and what not to.
Week two How to secure your home against forced entry and what to do in the event of a mugging.
Weeks three and four: How to use your body as a weapon and where your attacker is most vulnerable.
Week five: Fighting from the ground; learn how to stop an attacker who has you pinned to the earth. Week six: Dealing with armed attackers; learn why a weapon doesn’t mean it’s hopeless!
